Two Thames Valley Police horses were on patrol in Bicester on Tuesday.
The officers who were riding the horses named Morpheus and Triton engaged with the public.
Morpheus was introduced to the police force's armed response team.
The police said in a statement: "Morpheus is one of our newer horses but was in good company with his more experienced stable mate.
"It was good to speak to so many members of the public."
This was Triton's second outing in several days after he had joined Viktor, Atlas and Luna on April 27 to Aylesbury.
The team was assisting with patrols in the Fairford Leys and Southcourt areas after there had been complaints and reports of anti-social behaviour, but nobody was found.
