OXFORD United put themselves in a dominant position to finish in the Sky Bet League One play-offs with a 5-0 hammering of Peterborough United.
Mark Harris gave the U’s the lead from the penalty spot just before 20 minutes had been played, after Josh Murphy was brought down by Jadel Katongo.
Ricky-Jade Jones hit the crossbar for the Posh, with a close-range effort, while Murphy doubled United’s advantage after half an hour when he charged down a poor clearance from goalkeeper Jed Steer.
Murphy teed up Ruben Rodrigues to make it 3-0, while Owen Dale hit the outside of the post as the U’s came close to a fourth before half-time.
Rodrigues grabbed his brace when he dived in to head home Fin Stevens’ delightful cross just before an hour had been played.
Greg Leigh also slammed the post, before Billy Bodin’s outrageous lob put the icing on the cake for United.
