OXFORD United face an anxious waiting game to find out whether Cameron Brannagan and Elliott Moore will play any part this weekend.
Brannagan aggravated a knock to his ankle during United’s 4-0 win at Burton Albion on Saturday, having initially suffered the problem in training.
The U’s ace was forced off after 34 minutes against the Brewers, with Josh McEachran coming on in his place.
Moore meanwhile hobbled off during second half stoppage time, when United had already made all of their substitutions.
The duo both trained on Thursday, with U’s head coach Des Buckingham providing an update on their fitness.
He said: “They’ve been with the medical team most of the week, so we’ll just see how they respond, and then we’ll make a decision on their involvement.
“It just depends on how they respond, and if they come through that, they’ll be available for selection.
“On the coach on the way home, Cam was saying that he’ll be ready for Saturday, and that’s the mindset of both of them.
“Sometimes the body can take a little bit longer to heal than the mind, but we’ve done as much as we can, as have they this week, to try and put them in the best place to be available on Saturday.”
