OXFORD Stadium’s racing manager has left his position at Sandy Lane, with details of his exit remaining uncertain.

The stadium and Kiaran O’Brien are resolving the issue between themselves, the Oxford Mail understands.

A stadium spokesperson said earlier this week: “Oxford Stadium would like to again place on record its thanks to Kiaran for his role in our successful regeneration campaign.

“Kiaran has always held the highest levels of integrity during his time at Oxford Stadium.

“We wish Kiaran every success in the future and welcome Oxford locals Simon Pearson and Paul Johnson to the team, who join newly appointed Jade Allen in the racing office.”

O’Brien was hired earlier this year ahead of greyhound racing returning to Oxford last month.

He oversaw all aspects of the Cowley venue’s racing office, which reopened almost a decade after Oxford Stadium hosted its last race in December 2012.

O’Brien was responsible for operating race nights at Sandy Lane, in line with the Greyhound Board of Great Britain’s rules and regulations.
