SEAN Walkinshaw crashed in a sudden downpour in Belgium which forced his team’s retirement early in the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
MRS GT-Racing teammate Craig Dolby made a strong start, but Walkinshaw was caught out by a pool of standing water three hours into the race.
The Chipping Norton driver aquaplaned into the barriers and although he got back to the pits, a cracked chassis ended their race.
Walkinshaw, who was unhurt, said: “I couldn’t see anything and then I hit some standing water on the old pit straight and that was it.”
