Horspath have signed Oxford left-arm paceman Adam Price and destructive Bledlow batsman Adam Mould ahead of their first season in the top flight of the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League.

Australian seamer Price, 32, will be the club’s overseas player this season, succeeding South African all-rounder Dean Conradie.

He has played in Division 1 before with Oxford, but found his opportunities limited last term with the club also having New Zealander Mark Beer on their books.

Price, who played for Newcastle in New South Wales, instead spent much of the season with Oxford 2nd in Division 1 of the Cherwell League, taking 25 wickets in eight matches at an average of 6.32.

Horspath skipper Will Eason said: “He is someone for the last couple of years whose figures have dominated Division 1 in terms of performance with the ball and is clearly capable of playing a much higher standard.

“I think he will do really well for us.”

Eason was also delighted to have Mould on board.

Renowned as a big-hitter, the 26-year-old right-hander has starred in Cherwell League Division 2, scoring 677 runs last term at an average of 61.55.

Eason added: “He takes the game to the opposition and he is the type of player we need, particularly with the bat.”

Price is likely to get an early opportunity to face his old club as Horspath have been drawn away to Oxford in the ECB Twenty20 first round on Monday, May 4.
