Families will find plenty to do at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley during the school half-term holidays next week. As well as the ever-popular children's workshops throughout the week, including Texture Tiles, Mog the Museum Cat and Going Batty, the week will culminate with a Stone Age Fun Day on Friday, October 27.

The Texture Tiles workshop on Tuesday uses a variety of tools and methods to create collagraphs and monoprints.

Children will be able to take home the tiles they create and the prints they make from them. The event also includes a visit to the Surfacing art exhibition. There will be two sessions, one for four to seven-year-olds at 10.30am-12.30pm and for seven to 11-year-olds from 2pm to 4pm.

On Wednesday, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, children aged four to seven can make their own Mog the Museum Cat and have fun find hiding places for her in the galleries. Afterwards they can have a go at creating a friendly balloon ghost ready for Hallowe'en.

At the Going Batty bat workshop on Thursday, seven to 11-year-olds can find out all about these enchanting and often misunderstood creatures, including where they like to roost along the river.

Children will be able to make their own bat tower and also a family of bats to roost there using cardboard cylinders and fabric. This event is from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

The cost for each session is £8. As places are limited, all the activities need to be booked in advance.

Twelve month tickets for The Wind in the Willows permanent exhibition and including the galleries cost £7 for adults, £5 for children and £6 for senior citizens and concessions. Parking is free and the caf is open 10.30am to 4pm.
