Well Christmas is over and done with and luckily my dinner was not disturbed by labour pains!

It was very different to a normal Christmas day. I wasn't hungover for a start!! lol but i just could not relax and get in the mood. I really didn't want Squidge to be born on Christmas day as i feel the child misses out.

Christmas afternoon was nice as i had my nephews here and it showed me what it was going to be like it years to come when i watch Squidge opening presents and getting excited! Its lovely to watch Mum was relieved when xmas was over and said to me right we have got xmas over and done with now lets get new year over too. If only i had the choice!

Been feeling really uncomfortable lately. I have had back ache and period pains, also my feet keep swelling. I also noticed that the bottom of my bump has gone really soft and like jelly!! I started to panic thinking maybe Squidge had gone breech!?

I spoke to a friend of mine who reassured me that everything sounded perfectly normal and that the bump normally goes soft when the head is engaged! I became really tearful as reality kicked in! I was scared, all sorts of feelings and thoughts were coming in my head like what if i couldn't cope or what if something goes wrong The next day i had my check up with the doctor. He checked my blood pressure and that was normal and i got weighed!! oh dear I really have got to go on strict diet next year!! lol. He then checked the bump and told me what position Squidge was in and .......... THE HEAD WAS ENGAGED!!!!

oh my god!! this is it! Squidge could arrive at any time! The panic and the scared feeling suddenly disappeared and the excitement kicked in! I couldn't wait!

I went home and mum broke the news to my dad and brother! She has now decided that it is time for her to pack a little bag of bits that she may need. I think she is a little nervous as well but very excited!! every day she asks if i have had any twinges or if i am feeling ok. Its nice to have her support I have started taking raspberry tea tablets, bouncing on my ball and soon i will start eating fresh pineapple! Apparently all of these help the labour to begin!

Just a waiting game now but hopefully not for long wish me luck!!!

xx
