A YOUNG man who has been charged with two counts of rape has been in court.
Armanto Tzourtzi, 22, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (April 30) charged with two counts of rape and one count of assaulting a female by penetration.

It is alleged that Tzourtzi raped and sexually assaulted a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in Oxford on August 2 last year.
He appeared in the lower court on Tuesday morning for his first hearing and the case has now been adjourned as it is an indictable only offence, meaning it needs to go to a higher court.
Tzourtzi, of Cowley Road in Oxford, is now due to appear in Oxford Crown Court on May 30 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
