A science festival filled Abingdon market place with its colourful stalls.

The ATOM Festival of Science and Technology is celebrating its 10th anniversary and started with displays in the market place on Saturday.

There were also science activities, talks and shows at the town museum in the Guildhall.

Talks in the Guildhall included How to create a Mini Supernova, and a talk on JET (Joint European Torus) at Culham science centre.

Oxford Mail: ATOM science festival market dayYesterday Professor Cath Green OBE, gave a talk at Abingdon School's Amey Theatre entitled The Oxford AstraZeneca Vaccine and Beyond.

And on Saturday, in the Roysse Room at the Guildhall there will be a science activity day for children, from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

The festival runs until Saturday.
