A CCTV image has been released after an elderly man was defrauded out of a large sum of money. 

The image is of an individual officers believe may have vital information regarding the incident in Henley. 

At around 1.30pm on July 19, the victim a man in his 80s, received a call from someone claiming to be the police.

This person convinced the victim to withdraw a sum of money and hand it to a courier.

 

The courier attended the address and took the money.

Investigating officer PC Mike Ross-Williams, based at Wantage police station, said: “We would like to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed this incident or has any information to please get in touch.

“You can get in touch by either making a report online or by calling 101 quoting reference number 43230321818.

“Alternatively, for 100 per cent anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
