A teenage girl has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car hit a pedestrian near Witney in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A woman in her 40s was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged. 

The occupants of the white Audi A1 then fled the scene.

An 18-year-old woman from Oxfordshire was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

She has since been released on bail.

The crash occurred at around 2am on the A4095 Curbridge Road between the roundabout with Deer Park Road and the junction with Spring Meadow. 

The Audi also collided with a lampost and a wall. 

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses to the crash.
