A Pizza Hut near Oxford has been handed a new food hygiene rating.

The branch at 18 Cherwell Drive in New Marston was given a five-out-of-five-star score after an inspection on May 3.

The new score means that food standards are very good at the takeaway restaurant.

The inspection was carried out by the Food Standard’s Agency.

The inspectors assessed the establishment on levels of hygienic food handling, the cleanliness of the facilities and management of food safety.

Pizza Hut first originated in the United States in the 1950s but the first store was opened in the UK in 1973.

There are now over 700 restaurant and delivery outlets across the country.

Pizza Hut is an American multinational restaurant chain which was founded in 1958.
