Heavy rain is falling across Oxfordshire this afternoon and causing disruption to major roads.

The Met Office has forecast the wet weather to continue between 2pm and 6pm.

The chance of precipitation throughout the afternoon is around 90 per cent.

Oxon Travel, a traffic account run by the county council, has received reports of surface water on stretches of the A34 between Botley, Peartree and junction 9 of the M40.

An eyewitness on the Osney Mead industrial estate saw a Deliveroo driver up to his neck in water as he drove through the water.

The surface water is affecting both directions.

Motorists have been advised to approach these areas with caution.
