From street parties to bun throwing, community picnics and kids' entertainment, there is a packed schedule of free fun events you can join this weekend to celebrate the King's coronation.
Abingdon
Bun throwing is a 400-year-old tradition which is unique to Abingdon to mark a Royal occasion.
Councillors in full ceremonial robes climb to the top of the County Hall and throw several thousand currant buns down at the chanting crowds filling the Market Place below. It will take place on Sunday, May 7 at 4pm.
This will follow a Coronation Fun in the Park event in the Abbey Grounds, from 10am to 3pm, featuring community stalls and activities and a day of fun activities for children.
Witney
In Witney, Town Crier Jean Postlethwaite Dixon will make the official Coronation Cry ahead of a screening of the coronation ceremony at the Corn Exchange from 10am.
In the afternoon, judging will take place for the Best Shop Window competition and from 2 - 4pm there will be a Childrens' Make and Play event at the Corn Exchange.
On Sunday a Coronation Civic Service will be held at 10.45am at St Mary's on Church Green followed by The Big Lunch on The Leys.
The community picnic will be compered by Windrush Radio with fun and refreshments from the Coffee Shed, Hatwells' Funfair, Thames Valley Police will offer bike marking and Witney Vikings will be teaching ball skills.
There will be an adult and kids fancy dress competition and a throne photo booth with dress-up props.
The free event will feature live music and arts performances from Ducklington Morris Dancers and open mic sessions with a finale from WOAPA Choir singing the National Anthem.
On Sunday afternoon, The Coronation Concert will be shown on a big screen at the Corn Exchange in a free but ticketed event.
Bicester
The celebrations begin on Saturday from 11am at Garth Park, where there will be a community picnic with activities and entertainment alongside a live screening of the coronation.
Savoir Fare, the on-site cafe, will be open throughout the day.
On Sunday, from 1 to 5pm, Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa will be hosting a street party with a BBQ, ice cream and cake, and an outside bar with fun and games.
Everyone is welcome at Launton Grange Care Home which is hosting a garden party with music, a bouncy castle, face painting, homemade refreshments, games and more from 12pm until 3pm.
Didcot
In Didcot there will be a day of coronation celebrations in Boundary Park with live music, children’s entertainment, a tearoom, beer tent and food vans.
A 20-minute drive from Didcot, Dorchester Parish Council will be throwing a Coronation street party on Sunday May 7 using a long party table in Queen Street.
Henley
People can watch the coronation ceremony on a big screen in front of the town hall.
On Sunday, people have been encouraged to host local street parties and picnics on Mill Meadows where there will be music on the bandstand.
On Monday, there will be a decorated flotilla of boats on the Thames.
Wallingford
Watch a screening of the coronation in the Castle Gardens with children’s crafts, stalls on Castle Street, a Punch & Judy show and more.
The coronation is set to take place at 11am, and the market on Castle Street will run from 10am – 1pm.
People in Chilton can enjoy a ‘royal afternoon tea’ at the village hall on Saturday, from 10am to 1pm.
Faringdon
People are invited to enjoy a musical day in celebration of the coronation, with the marketplace becoming a hub of dance and entertainment from 4 to 9pm on Saturday.
All Saints church bells will ring from 2.30 - 4pm, there will be Maypole dancing at 4 - 4.30pm, a family ceilidh from 4.30 -6pm, performances from Brass Follies and Faringdon Community Choir and Boogie Me from 7 -9pm.
Wantage
The Market Place will be closed and set up for a large event to include a large screen showing the coronation. There will be tables and chairs set out and food and drink stalls.
Following the coronation there will be live music throughout the afternoon and early evening. There will be free rides and activities for the children with demonstrations from Wantage Kickboxing Club and performances from Wantage Big Band, Wantage Gospel Group and a number of other local artists.
Banbury
On Sunday there will be an afternoon of live music, food and drink in Spiceball Park, followed in the evening by the lighting of the town beacon, fire performance show and a fireworks finale - all you need to do is bring along a deck chair.
Children's activities and rides are available all afternoon too.
The event runs from midday until 9.30pm.
