Jeremy Clarkson's farming companion Kaleb Cooper presented 300 medals to youngsters participating in a rugby festival this month.

The famous farmhand from Diddly Squat delighted the kids at the Chipping Norton rugby festival on Sunday, April 23.

Mr Cooper also posed for pictures and selfies with the participants and spectators.

As many as 60 junior teams from seven different counties competed at the club’s Greystones base on Burford Road.

The festival was held on Mr Cooper’s former school grounds and in an interview with Get Radio he explained how pleased he was to return.

He said: “I’m Chipping Norton born and bred.

“I’m sure people have seen the second season of Clarkson’s Farm where I say my son is born in Oxford and I called him a foreigner because all my family are born in Chipping Norton.

“I wouldn’t say it is weird coming back as I know everyone in Chipping Norton.

“It’s a family. Everyone just gets along and that is the one thing I like about Chipping Norton the most."

Mr Cooper did however admit that he is more of a football player than a rugby one.

He said: “I am a football man. I don’t do rugby but I played on these pitches from a young boy.

“I was the goalkeeper. The thing I like about football is that rugby hurts.

“I wouldn’t want to be on the pitch with these kids. They are strong 11-year-olds.

“I like watching rugby. I just don’t like playing it.”
