A popular Kebab van has returned to Oxford city centre; despite noise concerns being raised previously.

'McCoys Food Oxford' returned to Pembroke Square on Monday, April 10.

The Kebab van advertises itself on Facebook as “Oxford’s favourite Kebab van” and in the past Oxford Mail readers have said the van is “one of the best in Oxford”.

The kebab van which is open seven days a week is open from 6.30pm until 4am in the morning.

McCoys previously closed as it was waiting for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to grant the operator’s license.

In the past, the kebab van has not been far away from controversy as Pembroke College has complained about the van’s noisy clientele.

The College previously said: “Students run the gauntlet to get home as revellers flock round the van, but last year failed again to get it moved.”

The Oxford College took issue with the van due to late night revellers flocking to McCoys for something to eat after leaving the pub or nightclubs.

Six days ago, posting on their Facebook account, McCoys said: “We are coming back with a bang. Hope you guys are hungry.”

McCoys has also announced that it has added mozzarella dippers to its brand new menu.

As well as opening into the early hours of the morning, it is possible to use their home delivery service from 6.30pm to 2am.
