Train services to Oxford were disrupted last night after a man was hit by a train.

Great Western Railway informed the public last night that a person had been hit by a train between Reading and London Paddington, blocking all the lines.

The British Transport Police have confirmed that their officers were called to Slough at 7.45pm last night and a man was immediately taken to hospital.

The man did not sustain any serious injuries.

Services between Didcot Parkway and Oxford were subsequently cancelled.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Slough at 7.45pm last night following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended and a man was taken to hospital – thankfully he didn’t sustain any serious injuries."

This incident comes only six days after a person was found dead on the railway tracks in the village Claydon, near Banbury.

It was believed that this person was also struck by a train.
