A pensioner was killed in a two-car collision on the A40 near Burford.
The 69-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash between a Honda Jazz and Skoda Fabia, Gloucestershire Constabulary said.
Three other people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries. They all remain in a serious condition.
Police said that the emergency services were called to the collision on the A40 near Little Barrington in the Cotswolds at around 11.50am today (Saturday, February 18).
The road remains closed while police crash detectives carry out their investigations.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary, citing log number 205 of February 18.
