Oxfordshire saw some damage last night as the Storm Dudley hit the county.

Much of Scotland, northern Wales and northern England had either amber or yellow weather warnings from the Met Office for high winds, but that did not stop the effects going further down towards southern England.

Trees falling down onto roads were the main cause of concern, as between Woodstock Road and New Yatt Road in Witney and the Finstock cross roads.

Some images were captured of some of the incidents, such as through the Kennington Connected! Facebook group.

For example, Jenny Priscott posted a picture in that group showing a large tree was that was completely blocking the path at Pebble Hill.

A member of Witney Spotted Official Facebook group showed a tree blocking the way ahead at Burford Road leading to Minster Lovell.

Additionally, another member of the Witney Spotted group showed a tree that had blown over onto a car between New Yatt Road and Woodstock Road.

However, in the grand scheme of what northern parts of the UK faced last night, Oxfordshire got off relatively lightly.

Not long after this most of England will be faced with Storm Eunice from early on Friday morniing, so people will yet again need to be cautious if out and about during the day and evening on Friday.
