THEY might look scary to some, but it turns bearded dragons are friendly creatures after all.

To celebrate one of their best selling animals, Kidlington pet shop Evolution Reptiles is holding a bearded dragon weekend, inviting owners and members of the public to meet the reptiles.

Starting today, staff will have different varieties of the dragon on display to show people what they are like to keep as a pet.

And customers who have previously bought the lizards from the store are encouraged to bring them back in.

Staff member Dee Costar said: "It's probably the best lizard you can buy.

"They are just so outgoing and they don't seem to have any fear of humans.

"Lots of our customers do not really get a chance to show them off, so hopefully at the weekend we will be bombarded by them."

Bearded dragons at the store can range in price from about £45 up to £70.

The shop, in Oxford Road, will be open from 10.30am to 5.30pm on Saturday and from 10am to 3pm on Sunday.

As well as the lizards on sale, there will other be competitions and offers for customers to take advantage of.
