AGED just 12, Charlotte Boyce’s dance talents are clear for all to see.

The Gosford Hill School pupil, from Kidlington, was one of the first to make it through to the British Theatre Dance Association finals in ballet and tap, and competed in the regional finals last weekend to secure her place for the lyrical and Greek categories.

She said: “Lyrical is very floaty and elegant, you have to wear dresses and there are lots of leaps and spins in it. In Greek you have to be very strong and it’s very sharp. You’re not supposed to turn your feet out like in ballet.”

Her dance school – Dance 10 Theatre School – hosted the Thames Valley regional round at Kidlington’s Edward Feild Primary School, while the national finals are in November.

In the regionals, Charlotte came first place in lyrical, second in Greek, and fourth in character and modern dance. She said: “I’m really excited about being in the finals. It will be really good.”
